What’s one skill you’ve gained or improved on since joining Total Solutions that you’re particularly proud of?
I’ve improved on my ability to adapt to difficult or challenging situations. It isn’t often that accounting “emergencies” happen, but when they do they require a lot of quick problem solving.
If you could swap roles with anyone else at Total Solutions for a week, who would it be and why?
If I could swap roles with anyone, it would be with Rachel. I’m not a particularly creative person, but being able to have a creative outlet at work seems like a fun challenge.
If you were to host a podcast episode related to your work at Total Solutions, what topic would you choose and why?
If I could host a podcast, the topic I would speak about would be how important to your business it is to have good record keeping. Sometimes, busy business owners don’t have the time to dedicate to keep good, detailed records which can result in more time spent to meet their accounting needs. Time really does equal money!
If you could instantly become an expert in any hobby or activity, what would it be and why?
If I could, I would instantly become an expert in gardening. When I purchased my home two years ago, we inherited a vegetable garden. I never knew how difficult gardening was before that! There is so much planning to be done like what plants to pair together for the best pollinating, schedules of when to plant/harvest etc.
Describe your perfect weekend if money and obligations weren’t a factor.
My perfect weekend would be spending time with my family at a secluded cabin somewhere in some woods (I’m not picky) and enjoying relaxing activities like reading by a fire, fishing, hiking or playing board games.
What’s the last book you read that made a significant impact on you, and what was the takeaway?
The last book that I read that made a significant impact on me was Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow. The takeaway is just how fleeting memories and relationships can be, and how some things that seem so important right now may not be in the grand scheme of life.
