Our Client Spotlight for July is Langan Design Intervention (LDI). Whether you’re looking just to prettify your new bathroom or to completely remodel your main floor, it can be challenging to find a carpenter and a team of interior designers who’ll get the job done right. Expertise can be rare in today’s rapid-paced world, where dedication is often replaced with quick fixes. Not with LDI, boasting years of experience working with residential and commercial projects, they offer every design and construction element under one roof. We help owner Janelle Langan with social media management so she can focus her time on making homeowners fall in love with their homes all over again. Continual communication with the team and clients, plus managing expectations, and total teamwork (a team that has worked together for nearly 10 years), help us in being a very successful organization.
What has been your favorite project you’ve worked on?
There have been so many awesome clients and projects for us at LDI. One that definitely stands out was a project we did for a local Korean War Veteran. Our work was pivotal to provide him a safe place to live and receive 24-hour care. We completely demoed the main floor to create a main floor master suite, with a full bathroom with walk-in shower, main floor laundry, a beautiful, well-equipped kitchen, along with all new flooring, custom trim (to match the age of the home), and so much more. There was a flag ceremony with First Army to complete the project. What a highlight
for the team! To be chosen for such a special project is something I will cherish forever.
What’s a piece of design advice you think everyone should know?
Don’t worry about “trends”. Focus on what truly works in your home and business. No one has a crystal ball as to what trends will be hot 10-years from now. Don’t set up your home for the next owner, when you have no intentions of moving. We spend a lot of time with the clients on the front end before we design anything. What are their goals with the property, timeline to stay, wish list, pain points, etc. Once we gather loads of information, we get to work on the design. Just because white or grey is on trend, does not mean it is right for everyone. The current space, people
in it, and personal style – all come into play when creating a masterful design. In addition, we place a HUGE emphasis on FUNCTIONALITY. A beautiful space only stays beautiful when it functions extremely well. We do a lot of kitchens, bathrooms, etc….so we use our experience to think of things the client may not have thought of.
